Pop ups

I've never noticed it on my home PC, but I'm noticing some pop-up ads on my laptop that, as best I can tell, come when visiting this site (although I typically have several tabs open at a time, so I can't be 100% sure). I think it is the Shoutbox doing it, as it uses an outside service. I've gone into the shoutbox code, and stripped some stuff out. Let me know if you still get popups. If they still happen, I'll try to find another shoutbox alternative.

I did some research, and the site that serves our shoutbox is in fact now serving popups on a limited basis. This just started, and the provider says there are a maximum of two per day. I'm not sure if this means 2 per user, or 2 for the entire site. I have Firefox set to block popups, so I don't see them on this computer. We have a few choices:

1. Live with the popups (which are blockable, at least by Firefox)
2. I can pay $29.95 annually to get rid of them, if we think the shoutbox is useful enough.
3. Get rid of the shoutbox entirely.
