Appearance:

Vangal is a large, well muscled, blood red scaled dragonman. He has a long, large snout, small yellow eyes, and small spike like spines running over the ridges above his eyes and eventually forming into two long horns. A pair of large fins on either side of his head create the illusion of ears, and many large, pointed teeth line his maw. A pair of large wings spring from his back as well as a long tail that ends in a spade. He has innumerable scars on his body. Like most of his kind, he tends to prefer more barbaric dress that shows off his scaled skin and it's scars. He wears the trophies of many of his kills, adapting several of them into his armor. When unarmored, he prefers loose tunics and excessive jewelry.

History:

Vangal dislikes to speak directly about his past, though he often alludes to it with a sense of regret and frustration. He seems to have been an ambitious but wholly unsuccessful warrior in his clan, his actions leading to his own humiliation and defeat more than once. Eventually he was exiled from his clan, and became a mercenary who operated out of a cavern known as Throden’whaere, a neutral ground for the warlike clans of his people. He had a successful career as a mercenary, before encountering several outsiders visiting the Broken Lands, the home of his kind. He joined with them as a guide, and shortly after Throden'whaere was attacked by a rogue clan. As violence was forbidden in Throden'whaere and none wished to shame their own clans, almost none were willing to fight the attackers. Enraged by this, Vangal joined with the outsiders in fighting off the attackers, and was ultimately rewarded by the clan elders with exile and given the title of Oathbreaker for his actions, though the Drakonar of Throden'whaere were grateful in spite of this. Afterwards, he left with the outsiders, and has been traveling with them since.

Personality:

Vangal Bloodmaw is an unusual mix of an arrogant, cruel warrior, wild animal and soldier. He is often suspicious and distrustful, yet at the same time tends to have a relaxed and cocky demeanor. He has a harsh view of the world, believing that only the strong are entitled to anything, and he looks down on those who are weak. Despite this, he is not malicious nor is he particularly interested in enforcing this belief. It is simply his view of how the world is, not an uncommon one amongst Drakonar. If he is fond of someone who is weaker than him, he can actually be quite protective of them, feeling the world shall swallow them up if left to their own devices. He is often loud and belligerent, but tends to go quiet in the rare instances he feels at a disadvantage. He has a cruel sense of humor, finding the pain of others particularly amusing, though in general, it’s not that hard to get him to laugh. Achieving victory is more important to him then how it is done and he has few moral qualms about methods, finding the notion of honor pointless and a tool of the weak to even the odds. He will keep his word to those he considers friends, however.
