think I corrupted my NWN

Post by Tunari » Wed Oct 12, 2005 5:28 pm

Just looking for thoughts.

It only effects my characters if I am playing single player on my pc, since I don't host anything on my pc. But it seems that I got some haks or mod properties intertwined with my NWN when I create a character.

I downloaded a premium model over the weekend to play around with. And when I created my character, he has some crazy numbers. All his stats and things appar to be fine, except for his attack bonuses. My level 5 Dwarf has attack bonuses like +88/80/75/70 , those are the types of stats I got when I used to create my Arena Fighter characters with outrages stats and weapons etc.. So, not sure. I guess it will only effect me in single player though. But, wanted to see what you guys think I screwed up?

I suppose I could save my haks/cep stuff I need now onto disc. Then go pick up the Platinum addition, reload, and reload my haks and stuff. My original game version is like 1.21 or something.

One of mods I downloaded must have overwritten my , what 2da files or some sort of attack roll file? Just curious.

Like I said, just effects me when creating a character on my pc for single player. All else is the same for my Dwarf, his ac, hp, regular level stats etc are all fine..he almost died several times last night, but when he smacks something with his axe, they are gonners after one hit. Kinda takes the suspense out of play when I know I can kill anything I encounter, as long as I hit them first I'll be ok.

Not sure what to do, if anything.

Only thing I can think of is that you have a modified Classes.2da file. Check your override folder, and that file is in there, move it. Put it anywhere else but your override folder, just incase for some reason you need to put it back later.

The only other thing I can think of is if you modify your base attack bonus back to where it's supposed to be. Press the tilde (~) key, type in "DebugMode 1" (with caps for D and M) then hit [Return]. Then type in "SetAttackBase #" with what it's supposed to be. Use the HotU manual's chart if you're unsure, or just post here and I should be able to figure it out for ya.

Hope one of those helps.

Ok, checked in that folder and found these.
There is a classes.2da file, and also cls_atk_1.2da, cls_atk_2.2da up through 6.

So those are not part of the original games? Probably something that got stuck there when I downloaded a couple levelr/merchant mods for the Gamespy Arena servers.

Well, I suppose I can move them somewhere and see what it does and move them back if need be right. Will maybe try that tonight.

I did notice that it seems to have effected the other NPCs as well. I picked up a henchman, clicked on him, looked at his attack stats and they were screwed up/very high like my characters. I have come close to death quite a few times. lol

We'll see.

Thanks for the input.
