How do you want to die?

Or perhaps that should be in which module do you want to die?
I'm going to start looking around for modules to suggest for us for me to DM, probably with Zap as well...should we keep our chars, or start on something else entirely?
Look, explore, discover...find me something to put my arch-daemon of +10 uber-death in

I'd like to die in my sleep when my time comes, personally.
I've always been intrigued by the pen and paper conversions, such as the following:
Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan:
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=mo ... il&id=3848
Tomb of Horrors:
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=mo ... il&id=3826
Ravenloft: A Requiem for Jander
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=mo ... il&id=3852
Not a pen and paper mod, but I've heard good things about the Cairn Dell modules. Here is the first one:
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=mo ... il&id=3752 (I should note that I think I played in one of these 2 or 3 years ago as a player in a one shot, but don't remember much other than the start was outstanding, but then two players got into a disagreement and starting attacking each other, and things got really ugly).
Finally, the Slave Lord series by JayAre (I think?) is out there somewhere, although I don't know if it has documentation.
Anybody else have some thoughts?
Of course, the above probably would require taking a break from current characters, so everyone would need to decide on that first.

As I said before I'd also like to play:

JayAre's slavelords is a two part adventure (combining A1-A4):

http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Mo ... il&id=4231
I'd love to play Tomb of Horror's with our current characters but we'll have to get them a bit higher first

I like the look of the slavelords one. I also like the idea of toomb of horrors with our current chars. I'm up for either one.
Anyone else have thoughts?

I'm still up for keeping my character for whatever we play. How much higher do we need to play the Tomb of Horrors? If it is just a level or two, that could be bumped at the the beginning of a series, just have server up and log on a bit early for leveling/supplies etc..
If we leveled up a couple and most of us are somewhere between 14 & 16 is that close enough? If so, we can still give it a shot. We just need a good supply of resurect scrolls since we might die frequently if playing under the min level requirement. Could be exciting. lol

Well, the Tomb that V linked has hak n slash and rp set at Medium, the other one for the lower levels has them as light. Think we would want the medium hak/slash and rp. Sounds funner. If we all went up 5 levels, that would put us all between levels 18-21 I think. We could give it a shot at those levels. A bit more dangerous...but probably fun.

If the NWN Tomb of Horrors is anything like the pen and paper mod, I strongly recommend against using your current characters (assuming you like them that is). I don't remember much from reading through that module years ago, but I do recall that the entire thing was a death trap. There were some traps in there that were insta-death, and irrevocable, IIRC.

Yeah, it was a 15-18 lvl mod in the original (or something like that). I did play it about 23 years ago and also remember the thing being one big death trap. That mod caused me to invent "Lindalas' rope trick" (yes, I was playing an elven fighter named Lindalas then too

. The idea was to use a spear and a rope to open doors from a distance and without standing directly in front of it as it opened.

I think I remember a trap or two that resulted in death or disintegration that was irrevocable, short of a Wish.

Instant death traps! More exciting....lol But if we have an Epic level Skotch, he should be able to spot everything.

If I remember right, the "traps" in the pen and paper mod weren't always traps, but puzzles or choices, where if you chose wrong you bit the dust.

hmmm, well puzzles or choices, would be the same whatever characters we are playing right? As far as figuring something out.
If it is something to roll against, we should be ok still depending on the type of roll. Asia and Miguel are Wisdom based (think clerics are Wisdom), so we should be pretty high, and Zas is Intelligent based I think. So if it is dice rolls against Wis or Int, in order to figure out something, we should be ok.
If the traps are just based on the "players" figuring something out, then it characters are just characters. Then it gets confusing though I think. If we all were playing brutish thugs or fighters, then our "characters" shouldn't be figuring out to much, since they won't have high Wis or Int right?
Why wouldn't our balanced group work?

I lost two characters in that mod. The first one walked into a black hole and the other one was crushed underneath a giant steamroller. I can't remember where those happened in the mod so I don't think that memory precludes me from playing (although I'd think twice before jumping through any hole in the wall).

Sounds like a good job for a familiar. lol If Merch makes it back, then we can all go through.
