The woman in the cell was Jalinoc's mother, indeed. Unfortunately, there was little time for a reunion. She explained that her captors had done something to her, to take away her casting ability. She rued that she wouldn't be able to help you. She also said that time was short, as some of the artificers had been attempting to access the Heart of the Weave, and might be there already, trying to destroy it.
You raced onward, coming to a large room that sparked with magical energy. Several artificers were there, accompanied by frost giants. They guarded a portal, which stood at the far side of the room. By the portal stood another wizard. You fought your way through the room, vanquishing all of your foes, until you stood before the portal and wizard.
Bel and the wizard recognized one another. The wizard was Grimmel, the head of the elven Artificers. He explained that his power was all that held the portal open, and that if you killed him, the portal would at some point close behind you if you entered it. He also shed some light on why Bel had been mistreated in his youth. Grimmel had seen something in Bel - something that caused him to fear that Bel would someday thwart his grand plan. Little did Grimmel know back then, but driving Bel to leave would actually cause Grimmel's fears to come true.
Taking a chance, you entered the portal, and came upon an awesome sight. You were in the realm of the Heart of the Weave. Several artificers were there, summoning power from a prisoner, and using it to assault the Heart. You could only guess that this prisoner was someone similar with power - or a curse - similar to that possessed by T'erin. Numerous drakanor guarded the Artificers. It didn't take long for them to notice you, and a fierce battle began. To make matters worse, the portal closed behind you at that moment as well.
The battle was chaotic and ferocious, as you faced the onslaught of the Artificers and drakanor. On more than one occasion, all was nearly lost, with almost the entire party down and bleeding. Somehow, you rallied around one another, fighting the enemy and healing each other. Towards the end, you were also buoyed by the appearance of Gedoron Supris, the great wizard who you had met earlier. He helped you put the finishing touches on your enemies, and secure the Heart of the Weave.
Ged opened another portal, making the closing of Grimmel's portal a moot point. Stepping through, you found yourself back in Tyric's castle. He beamed from ear to ear, thanking you for your service to Naeldor. He promised a visit to his magic supply room, so that you could each pick out a magic item as a reward. He also explained that he had whisked away Jalinoc's mother, as well as Dedorat, Karghon's mentor. Both were now safe.
You have saved the Heart of the Weave, and possibly Naeldor with it. Tales of your deeds will be told by Gedoron and Tyric, and will, almost certainly, spread slowly across the land. You are heroes, but you still have much of your lives ahead of you. What will your future hold?
